Lockheed Martin Australia Renews National Youth Science Forum Partnership

CANBERRA, Australia, July 10, 2018 – Defence technology and innovation company, Lockheed Martin Australia, has announced its ongoing commitment to the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) for a further three years.

NYSF is an Australian not-for-profit focused on providing young people with opportunities to learn more about the possibilities for future study and careers if they continue to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects after school.

A major sponsor of the NYSF since 2014, Lockheed Martin Australia’s renewed partnership agreement will provide operational support for the NYSF and its 2018, 2019 and 2020 initiatives, including: Year 12 Program, including the NYSF Next Step Program; National Science Teachers Summer School; and Student Staff Leadership Program.

Speaking at an NYSF Next Step program visit to the state-of-the-art Lockheed Martin Endeavour Centre in Canberra today, Lockheed Martin Australia Chief Executive Vince DiPietro AM CSC acknowledged the significant impact of the NYSF program, particularly for young women and for young people in regional communities.

“NYSF plays a vital role in inspiring the future STEM professionals Australia will need to ensure we can compete globally and protect our national interests,” he said. “We are proud to continue our support of the NYSF and continue to play our part to expand the horizons of potentially thousands of young Australians from every state and territory – including young men and women from diverse backgrounds, living in both urban and remote areas.”
