CANBERRA, 6 December, 2023 – Lockheed Martin Australia has announced the launch of its Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), demonstrating a commitment to strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The Reflect RAP, created in line with Reconciliation Australia’s Framework, is designed to lay the foundation for Lockheed Martin Australia’s long-term vision for reconciliation. It is the first of four RAPs that will allow the company to continuously develop and deliver its commitments.
"Lockheed Martin Australia’s Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan formally marks the beginning of our reconciliation journey. Over the next year, we will use it to build trust and strengthen our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, deepen our understanding and respect for their rich histories, cultures and achievements, and explore our sphere of influence,” said Warren McDonald, Chief Executive, Lockheed Martin Australia.
“Our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan also underpins our commitment to shaping an organisational culture that values diversity and reflects the communities in which we work and live. To this end, we are reviewing and creating meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to support and enhance Lockheed Martin Australia’s capability and growth.”
Lockheed Martin Australia’s RAP will be governed by an internal working group, and the company will also report transparently on its progress, helping ensure commitments are delivered on and remain relevant.

“Every reconciliation journey begins with thoughtful steps and meaningful actions. Lockheed Martin Australia’s Plan is a significant step towards fostering deeper relationships, respect and opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the defence industry and beyond.
“In taking this first step, Lockheed Martin Australia joins a network of more than 2,200 corporate, government, and not-for-profit organisations that have made a formal commitment to reconciliation through the Reconciliation Action Plan program.”
The Reflect RAP is a foundational document that will enable Lockheed Martin Australia to prepare its reconciliation initiatives, providing the base for future RAPs and strengthening the relationship between the business and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is part of a journey towards a more inclusive and respectful society, reinforcing the national movement for reconciliation.
